So summer is in full swing here, and as far as photo sessions are concerned that translates to: MAKEUP NIGHTMARE. Did you also know that Tampa was just rated America’s Sweatiest City. Seriously.
Not sure what that trophy looks like. Giant deodorant bottle? Pit-stained t shirts for the whole town? Yet to be determined.
But with the dog days upon us, I’ve got some tips for you, whether you’re getting ready for your close-up with a photo shoot, or just trying to survive without looking haggard.
I asked my favorite makeup artist to chime in on this one, since, well, makeup is not exactly my area of expertise (What? you mean that eyeshadow I bought in ’03 is outdated? ). Jess from Jess Waldrop Makeup Artists is here with her very favorite summer makeup products, to keep you looking shine-free all season long.
Here’s what she recommends! (shopable links, too!)
Primer – “Primer really is amazing but not all Primer is the same! I love Urban Decay Perfecting Complection because it is fills in fine lines and preps your skin for your foundation to stay put!” Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer Lotion .94 oz
Foundation – “I love Mac Pro Longwear foundation because it has great coverage and gives a soft powdery finish without the powder!” MAC Pro Longwear Foundation SPF 10 – N18 30ml/1oz
Setting Spray – “Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to set your makeup” All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray 1.0 oz
Blot – “We like to blot throughout the humid months with either blot paper or blot powder. Both have silica in them so they absorb moisture without adding unwanted to powder to your skin. Most [pressed] powder oxidizes in the heat so we like to avoid touching up with pressed powders. MAC Blot Powder is my favorite!” MAC Blot Powder Pressed Medium
And here it all is, so you can pin it and save it for later!
enjoy! stay cool out there!
