Every once in a while I feel the need to make a mood board.

A pinterest board won’t cut it for these. It’s literally my own little outlet. I just like to put together images I love, and play with color palettes. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, and there’s really no end goal–I mean one day I may need a really great color palette, but for now this is just creativity for the sake of creating. Turns out mood boards are kinda my happy place. Just me? So if it’s raining, or if I’m stressed, you’ll just find me over here playing in photoshop like I love to do, making mood boards like it’s my job.

And then sometimes, I just need one good image to make the magic happen. Sure, there are websites devoted to color-scheming, but there’s something about pulling the colors from the images, and just playing around to see what looks good that makes me happy. And because there’s no final project in mind, there’s no right or wrong.

This is actually a really good Brand Building exercise–If you’re wanting a brand re-fresh, or what to make your own brand collateral, pulling together a color mix this way is super helpful. But also, if it’s Saturday and you’re feeling creative, it’s a good time. No paper required. 🙂
